Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting

This course includes 3 areas of first aid and is a skill set combination course designed for educators and child care workers.

  • This course provides the skills and knowledge for educators and support staff working within an education and/or care setting who are required to deliver a first aid response and life support.  

  • It includes CPR, First Aid procedures, plus asthma and anaphylaxis training, management of casualties, the incident record and how to recognise the possible psychological impacts on self, other rescuers and children.

  • This course is also ideal for parents wanting child centred, comprehensive, accredited first aid training.

  • This unit of competency applies to training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).

  • Entry Requirements
    There are no formal academic requirements for this qualification however, NIVT requires that all learners:

    • Be at least 18 years old

    • Have the physical capacity to perform sustained CPR for at least two minutes

    • Successfully complete the pre-enrolment interview; and

    • Successfully complete the Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment

  • Course Fee: $180

  • Duration: 1 day (8 hours) - Course includes all 3 units (listed below). 

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the

Statement of Attainment for: 

HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

HLTAID003 Provide first aid

HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care
