Provide first aid in an education and care setting
This course includes 3 areas of first aid and is a skill set combination course designed for educators and child care workers.

This course provides the skills and knowledge for educators and support staff working within an education and/or care setting who are required to deliver a first aid response and life support.

It includes CPR, First Aid procedures, plus asthma and anaphylaxis training, management of casualties, the incident record and how to recognise the possible psychological impacts on self, other rescuers and children.

This course is also ideal for parents wanting child centred, comprehensive, accredited first aid training.

This unit of competency applies to training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).

Entry Requirements
There are no formal academic requirements for this qualification however, NIVT requires that all learners:-
Be at least 18 years old

Have the physical capacity to perform sustained CPR for at least two minutes

Successfully complete the pre-enrolment interview; and

Successfully complete the Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the
Statement of Attainment for:
HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID011 Provide first aid
